Welcome to Strix Editions, the Colchester based, Wildlife Art Publishers and Specialists. Our main activities are focussed on the works of East Anglian artists Mark Chester and Kenneth Smith, but we also feature the works of other eminent artists within the region such as Christopher Bacon and the inimitable Terance James Bond. We also carry the superb works of Paul Apps and Chris Rose, and from time to time, those of Michael Warren.
The works featured on the site represent only a small proportion of the images currently available. If you are unable to find what you are looking for on the following pages, please contact us with your requirements and we will be pleased to email copies of available images.
Types of Print
We currently publish prints in both Lithographic and Giclee Format. To enhance the exclusivity of issues new "Litho" issues are currently normally restricted to a maximum number of 250 copies. Giclee issues are restricted to between 50 and 150 copies with issues reproduced on canvas limited to a maximum of 25 copies only.
What are Giclèe Prints?
Giclèe (pronounced jhee-klay and derived from the French verb "to squirt") is a technologically advanced inkjet printing process, which offers an incredible quality of reproduction over and above that achieved from the traditional printing process. Images are generated from high-resolution digital scans and are printed individually using archival quality inks onto either fine art paper or canvas. Colour accuracy is better than other printing processes and offers a lush textured finish bearing favourable comparison with that of the original work.
See us at Shows
As well as selling via the internet and mail order, we also exhibit regularly at Craft, Country and Garden Shows within the eastern counties.
Please contact us for a list of venues and dates. Wherever possible, we will endeavour to provide complimentary tickets. These are however not available for all shows and where available are offered on a "first-come / first-served" basis.
Ordering & Delivery
Order with full confidence over our Secure Server. Orders within the United Kingdom are sent by First Class / Recorded Delivery. A contribution towards Postage and Packing of £5.00 is chargeable on orders of under £100.00. Overseas buyers customers are kindly requested to contact us for details of applicable postal charges.
